What is TSSA Compliance?

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) regulates fuel storage and handling standards in Ontario to ensure safety and environmental protection. TSSA compliance involves adhering to these regulations for the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of fuel storage tanks and associated systems.

Notice to New Customers!

A mandatory Inspection of your heating system and furnace fuel tank is required. On May 1, 2002 the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) introduced new regulations governing fuel-oil heating systems and storage tanks. It states that an inspection of your entire heating system and tank must be done every 10 years by a certified oil burner technician. Please have your TSSA certificate ready for the Brown’s Fuels crew.

If you can’t find a copy of your TSSA, call us and we’ll help you track it down. Or, we can help you be in compliance and obtain a new one *service fees will apply. If you recently purchased your new home, the TSSA certificate is transferable. Please contact your seller to obtain a copy.
